Last week, U.S. Rep. Mike Doyle joined Mayor Peduto, State Senator Wayne Fontana, the Federal Home Loan Bank of Pittsburgh, PNC Bank, ACTION-Housing, Community Human Services and other community leaders for a celebration of the many partners who have helped to revitalize Wood Street Commons, ending with a ceremony to present a $500,000 Affordable Housing Program grant to continue the work.
A huge thank you to everyone who braved the stormy weather for our Customer Appreciation event on July 30th! Despite the stormy weather, nearly 200 people came out for a great time of food, games, entertainment, and resources.

We want to thank all of our customers for being part of CHS. Join us at our Strip District location for an afternoon of food, activities, a flea market, wellness events, and more.

Over the last six months, CHS has seen more people than ever looking for housing help. Each day, our offices receive anywhere from 20 to 50 calls from people who are struggling financially. To meet that need, we are thrilled to share that we have a few new programs starting up:
The Squirrel Hill Health Center Mobile Unit provides primary and preventive medical care with convenience and efficiency. Starting August 3rd, the Mobile Unit will be coming to CHS to our 2525 Liberty Avenue location in the Strip District on the first and third Wednesdays of each month.
With the 4th of July just behind us, we all have had food on our mind: the cookouts with potato salad, burgers, desserts… But did you know that there are opportunities this month to eat great food and support the CHS Food Pantry at the same time?
You may know our mission: to empower individuals and families to live in stable housing, connect to community resources, build relationships, and access quality food.
