Maintenance Technician

Functional Definition: 

Immediate need for part time/full time Maintenance Technician. Position is under the general supervision of the Director of Maintenance with no supervisory responsibilities. We are looking for a thorough Maintenance Technician to undertake the responsibility to preserve the condition and functionality of all CHS properties. You will perform tasks of great variety such as painting, plumbing, basic electrical, landscaping and property inspections etc. The position is Part Time for 6 months but will become permanent with satisfactory evaluation, to include; Health, Dental, Vision, Generous PTO and Holidays. Life Insurance/STD/LTD, and 401(k) if working over 20 hours per week. The position pays an hourly rate based on experience

Responsibilities and Duties: 

1.    Coordinates maintenance requirements and follows the maintenance schedule as outlined. All informal requests to be redirected to the Director of Maintenance

2.    Maintain heating and plumbing systems to ensure functionality

3.    Inspect alarm systems (fire protection) and schedule repairs as needed

4.    Perform manual repairs when necessary (fix locks, replace doors etc

5.    Conduct general upkeep procedures(e.g. landscaping) and other tasks as assigned (painting, carpentry etc)

Minimum Qualifications: 

·         Ability to work cooperatively with other maintenance personnel, program staff, contractors and vendors

·         Must possess the ability to express sensitivity to CHS residents while maintaining personal boundaries

·         Must have adequate experience with basic building maintenance including carpentry, plumbing, painting, electrical, etc., possessing tools to perform same

·         Working knowledge of tools, common appliances and devices

·         Ability to work with a team

·         Ability to work independently and good problem solver

·         Valid PA driver’s license and reliable transportation to access job sites

·         Must be physically able to lift 60lbs and confident working from ladders
